Advertised as a pattern for the 'Little Woman'', this evening gown was designed with the petite or short-waisted woman in mind. Body hugging gown has a plunging back and deep 'V' inset. Shoulder straps are twisted and the beautifully pointed seams and center fullness in front and back give the desired effect of height. The cape shown in photo #2 is NOT part of this pattern - this customer made up this wrap to match her dress. SUGGESTED MATERIALS: Plain or Printed SIlk, Rayon, Crepe, Satin, Velvet. DRESS AS SHOWN: ~ 39 Inch Wide Material Without Nap 4-1/2 Yards This Pictorial Review pattern was originally created by Dec. 30, 1939 and has been re-digitized into it's current format. This is a review from Daisy who is wearing the blue satin dress: "This pattern was a success! I used satin, which worked very well, but silk would do well too. I got so many compliments thanks to this great pattern. I had to improvise on the side opening because I didn’t know how to do a continuous lap and the satin was very slippery (plus I was in a hurry), but over all it was very clear with following the numbers on the pattern pieces with the instructions. By the way, I am 5.6, and the length of the dress worked well for me, it was right above my ankles. Thank you! Five stars!" Our patterns include seam allowances, grain lines and updated text for ease of construction. Patterns are reproduced directly from the original source material, with no changes in order to retain the historical accuracy of the pattern. Prior sewing experience and knowledge of working with vintage patterns is recommended. Please note: This is NOT a finished garment and the original documentation and pattern are NOT included. This is a DIGITAL VERSION, you will not receive a paper pattern. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ INSTANT DOWNLOAD: Your purchase will be available for download once payment clears through .
