The Stories of the Stones

Rose Wood -  Rosewood is often associated with the heart chakra. It promotes sensitivity, compassion, and healing. These naturally red wood beads are handmade and then waxed for a glossy finish. Wood is an incredibly porous material and works great as a diffuser for your favorite essential oils.

Recycled Glass (Yellow and Green) Beads - These beads are made by the Krobo Tribe in Ghana, Africa. Used bottles, old windows, and broken tiles are ground into a fine powder and then placed into a clay mold. The stem of a cassava leaf is used to form the hole, and then baked in an oven. When removed from the oven, the cassava stem has burned up and the finished glass beads are then polished by hand and ready to be made into jewelry. Recycled glass produces 20% less air pollution and 50% less water pollution than creating new glass.

Carnelian - referred to as the “Stone of Confidence” for its properties that can help boost one’s self-esteem, restore vitality, and increase motivation. Carnelian is great for promoting positive life decisions and can be useful for overcoming adversity.

Jade - A stone of luck and protection, Jade is known to keep the wearer away from harm and promote good fortune and harmony. Jade is a stabilizing gemstone that is known to soothe the mind and allow negative thoughts to drift away. It stabilizes the personality, promotes self-sufficiency, and attracts good luck & meaningful friendships.

Amethyst - Known for its calming properties, Amethyst is thought to relieve stress and promote tranquility. It is said to allow its wearer to shed negativity and sadness and activate one's spiritual awareness. Amethyst, being a cleansing stone, alleviates negative thoughts which can result in increased memory, motivation, and focus.

Sodalite - Sodalite brings order and calmness to the mind. It encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth, and intuition. Sodalite brings emotional balance, calms panicked emotions, and leaves its wearer feeling grounded, level-headed, and capable of honestly expressing their emotions.

Rose Quartz - Rose quartz is the universal stone of love. This beautiful pink stone restores trust and harmony in relationships and encourages unconditional love. Rose Quartz promotes friendship, deep inner healing, and restores feelings of peace.

Agate - Agates are one of the oldest, most powerful, and protective gemstones. Agates are known for their protective properties and ability to rebalance and harmonize the body. Agates promote maturity, composure, and fend off negativity. It is also suggested that agates are able to enhance mental function and improve concentration, perception and analytical abilities.

Czech Glass Letter Beads - Czech Glass has been around for centuries and is credited to be some of the highest quality glass due to the abundance of sand, water, forests, and quartz

A Step Forward

Who knew socks could make such a big difference? Every purchase helps support Hippy Feet's employment program for young people (ages 16-24) experiencing homelessness. The person who packages your socks even signs the tag, so you know who your purchase helps employ. Employment program participants are paid $13/hr and are connected with additional resources like counseling, job certifications, and bus passes.

Sustainability

Protecting the Planet

When you buy quality, you replace your products less often. That's why our socks are made to last. Every pair is knit using cotton recycled from t-shirts, saving 172 gallons of water that would be required by growing new cotton for your socks. Even the polyester in this pair of socks is recycled, limiting the amount of new synthetic material created to knit them.
