Rescue divers search Brooklyn's Prospect Park Lake amid snow and sleet for a man who ignored danger signs and tried walking on thin ice. Witnesses saw the man, who is described as being in his late 20's and about 6 feet tall, walk out about 40 feet from the Peninsula Meadow shoreline at about 9 a.m. This morning before the ice gave way. A half dozen divers from the police and fire departments searched an area the size of a football field for about two hours before giving up hope of finding the man alive.
