Coming at ya with another review – this time of the MZ Wallace Max tote! If you’ve never heard of MZ Wallace, it is a New York based handbag company founded by two working women. The founders saw a need in the market for bags that truly work for busy lifestyles- they themselves traveled regularly, worked demanding jobs, and had small children. They needed something that could transition them through all of the different aspects of their life. The philosophy behind their brand is “designed to do more.” Now let’s be real. If you are like me, you may dismiss this bag at first glance. It’s resemblance to a puffy winter coat was not immediately appealing to me – to be honest. I began seeing the brand’s famous “Metro Tote” all over instagram and wasn’t jumping to purchase one for myself. BUT then I saw Maddy Gutierrez from purchase the Max and showcase it on her blog. I really started to warm up to the look of the bags when I saw just how functional they are. It really took someone explaining all the features and perks of the bags to get me thinking about how one might actually be helpful in my life. Ladies: If you travel, if you commute to work, if you have kids, if you have any reason to lug a bunch of stuff around – this bag is for you. It is super lightweight, functional, and easy! I have mine in the color “Dawn.” For Travel: It has a luggage sleeve to slide it on top of your carry on! A must for all my travel bags going forward. Even prior to having Emma, I loved the ability to travel with a bag that securely rests on my carry on. Now with an active toddler, I won’t have to fumble with a big bag that slides off the side of my luggage. It also has four exterior pockets, two of which are on the side and can hold water bottles or juice boxes. The pockets make it easy to keep all the snacks on hand! And what might be the most unique feature of the bag… it is foldable, rollable, and packable. For Work: It fits a 15 in. laptop, has six interior pockets, and has a key ring strap. It also has a zip closure at the top, which isn’t always available in tote bags. It truly holds all your commuting essentials. I have a purse organizer inside (I like this one) which really helps to hold the bags shape and adds to the ease of organization inside the bag. For the Gym: The detachable pouch comes in clutch for gym shoes or gym clothes, or can keep your work shoes protected during the commute to and from the office. For the Moms: Can be used as a diaper bag! The purse has top handles, but also a detachable and adjustable crossbody strap making it easy to go hands free with the kiddos. There is plenty of room inside to carry all of the necessities. And the fact that it is so lightweight will really make a difference in the comfort of lugging all of it around! Now on to probably the most important point… THE PRICE. Is it worth the money? Well… let me tell you that this puffy jacket purse will set you back a cool $265. That’s expensive for a non-leather piece, I know. But hear me out – the use you will get from this bag will justify the price. And, these bags are built to last. They are excellent quality and the brand itself prides itself on their sustainability efforts.
