Hi Guys! I know it’s been a while, but one of my favourite budget brands is back on the blog today with one of their latest brand new products! Makeup Revolution have been pumping out products left right and centre for quite a while now, then more recently all of a sudden they went pretty quiet. So it was fantastic to have a brand new product land on my doorstep last week (and I’ve actually had another one arrive yesterday) so they’re definitely back in the game again! The Ultra Contour Palette is Makeup Revolution’s complete contouring and highlighting palette solution. It includes eight brand new shades promising perfect contouring and sculpting, whilst including two gorgeous baked highlighters for illumination. Instantly, this palette reminds me of the Blush Contour Palette in Golden Sugar – which obviously has more blush shades, but the very left top and bottom highlighters appear to be the same ones in the Ultra Contour Palette. I’ve checked the description and it definitely says ‘8 new shades’ in the Ultra Contour Palette though… hmmm! Ok so let’s take a look at the palette. It includes eight pans, four of which are lighter, highlight shades, three are darker, contour shades, and there’s one shade that’s a bit of an anomaly – is it a contour? Is it a highlighter? A bronzer?? From the swatches that you’ll see below, I think this could either be used as a light bronzer, or a highlighter depending on your skin tone. The first two highlighter shades are a pale peachy pink, and a pale muted yellow, and both have a matte finish. The next pan is a very similar pale pink to the first, but this one also gives a lovely soft luminous sheen, and lastly the baked highlight on the top far right, this is a beautiful silver colour with gold veins running through. The bottom row contains three matte contour shades, the first and the third shade are very similar, and the second shade is slightly lighter – which is perfect for me! The last pan is another gorgeous luminous shade, this is just the right shade for a flush of colour on my pale skin 🙂 I just wanted to include a close up of the far right two pans, because they’re so pretty! Above is the silver highlight and below is the luminous bronzer / highlight. And let’s take a look at some swatches! Because I’m super pale, unfortunately you can’t see the first two highlighter shades too well on my arm. Personally, I prefer the last two, luminous highlighter shades just because they actually show up on my skin! The first two matte shades could still work really well on darker skin tones if you’re looking to highlight without shimmer. And here are the contour shades. I found the second shade best for me when it comes to contouring as this was slightly lighter and cooler than the other two matte shades and definitely suited me more. I think the darker shades could work really well on the right skin tones, whereas others may find them to be a bit too reddy. Overall though, this is a fantastic little palette, all the shades are finely milled and have an almost buttery soft texture that is lovely to work with and apply, plus it’s a complete bargain at only £8.00! The Ultra Contour Palette is available now at Superdrug. I’d love to hear what your favourite contour products are? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx This post contains press samples Comments comments
