The national flag of Uganda, or the Ugandan Flag, is a horizontal tricolor with three equal vertical stripes: green on the hoist side, black in the middle and orange on the fly side. It was adopted on 15 October 1962 after Uganda gained independence from British rule. It resembles similar flags seen in Africa such their neighbour Kenya. The colours stand for agriculture (green), progress (blue) and co-operations (orange).
